It’s Wednesday, March 22, 4:39 pm. I’m anxiously awaiting the first shipment of my new book, VIETNAM…AGAIN. UPS tracking indicated that the boxes had arrived in Sallisaw at 6:35 this morning and were “out for delivery.” There’s still a few hours of daylight left, so I have adequate time to work myself into a frenzy.
My anxiety is caused mainly because I’m traveling to Hobart, Oklahoma, tomorrow for a book signing and reading of this new book. It would be embarrassing as hell for me to arrive there with no books on board. What would I tell the folks? That just wouldn’t do.
I have another signing/reading scheduled at the Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library in Sallisaw for this Saturday, March 25, from 9:00 to noon. I’m certain I’ll have books for that one. Then there is a signing at the Fort Smith, Arkansas, Public Library on Rogers Avenue on Tuesday, March 28, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
I’ve also made arrangements to attend the book luncheon at the Sallisaw Library on April 5, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. I’ll be talking about my book, VIETNAM…AGAIN.
At the Muskogee Public Library I’ll have a signing/reading on June 28 from 11:30 to 1:45. And a bit south in Checlotah, I have another signing/reading on September 13, from 11:30 am to around 1:00.
It will be a busy few weeks, and the work on my house is going to suffer a bit, but the jobs will still be there when I’m ready to return to them.
Now, where the heck is UPS…
